Royal Force too strong for rivals

ROYAL FORCE goes to the line on a tight hold by Grant Cooksley

It was a show of force when two veterans combined to capture the RM55,000 Royal Turf Club of Thailand Trophy here today.

Eight-year-old ROYAL FORCE (Deputy Governor - Celedon by Babarooom) put behind three disappointing outings this season to win by 4 1/4 lengths in the Class 4 - 1700m handicap, aided by a cool and calculated ride by veteran kiwi rider Grant Cooksley.

Winner of four races in Singapore, ROYAL FORCE returned to the winner's circle after a two-year lapse when he scored over 1400m in Penang last December.
