Robbie Fradd suspended two months

SINGAPORE,  Mar 3, 2010

Jockey Robbie Fradd was today handed a two-month suspension for his ride on SALVAGENTE in the Class 5, Div 2 - 1400m sprint at Kranji on Feb 16.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, Fradd, the rider of SALVAGENTE, was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(9)(b)(ii) in that whilst riding SALVAGENTE in the said race, near the 1000m, he improperly raised his right arm and extended it outwards, thereby making contact with jockey Sam Subian, the rider of CHIEF FIRE THUNDER.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, nature of the charge and submissions from Fradd that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore race meetings on Friday, Sunday and next Friday.

The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races for a period of two months. However, acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred until next Saturday, Feb 13. He was advised of his right of appeal.
