Win Lots gives new trainer Kieser first win

SINGAPORE, May 2, 2010

Theodore Kieser, the former assistant to champion trainer Laurie Laxon who branched out on his own in November last year, has recorded his first win when WIN LOTS captured the Maiden - 1200m sprint at Kranji here today.

The South African took over the four-year-old at the start of the season and WIN LOTS (Danetime - Ciana Belle by Balmerino) was having his fourth start or him and his 34th starter over all.

Ridden a copy book race by Ronnie Stewart, WIN LOTS came just off the pace to score by 1 1/4 lengths.

"I’ve saddled hundreds of winners as a 'B' trainer but this is my first winner as a trainer in my own right. I’m just so happy.

"I’ve waited for that moment for a long time. I could have stayed as an assistant trainer for a safer job, but I’ve always wanted to be a trainer and this is what it is all about," said Kieser.

Meanwhile, Sean Cormack benefited most from the absence of Vlad Duric, who was certified unfit for the day, when he scored on his twi chance mounts, COMMON INTEREST and MISSION ROYALE.

COMMON INTEREST (Al Akbar - Witticism by Imperial Seal) broke through for his maiden win in the Class 5 - 1000m sprint on the fibresand.

For MISSION ROYALE (Kbenjar - Tessa Bianca by Carnegie), it was his third win in 13 starts since late 2007.
