Zac Missile storms into Gold Cup picture

ZAC MISSILE wins the Mandai Classic Stakes to earn a ticket to

Promising stayer ZAC MISSILE galloped into the reckoning for the Singapore Gold Cup in two weeks' time with a stylish win in the S$150,000 Mandai Classic Stakes over 2200m at Kranji here today.

Ridden by Danny Beasley, ZAC MISSILE (Yamanin Vital - Ranch by Rancher) led from start to finish, winning comfortably by 1 1/4 lengths.

It was the sixth win in 13 starts for the New Zealand four-year-old, but more importantly, his first success beyond 1800m and over the Gold Cup trip.

Costing just NZ$20,000 as yearling, the Michael Freedman-trained gelding has been growing from strength to strength in the past couple of months, and has now wonm three of his last four starts.
