KUALA LUMPUR,  Feb 23, 2010

Selangor Turf Club will stage a special one-day meeting next Saturday (March 6) catering to horses in Classes 3 and 4, and four-year-old maidens.

No racing has been scheduled on that day in the racing calendar for 2010.

And unlike previous one-day meetings which were confined to home based horses, this meeting called 'Selangor Novelty March Meeting' will be open to horses from Ipoh and Penang as well.

However, prizemoney offered for this meeting is well below the normal range.

The stakes for Class 3 races will be RM25,000, a third of the normal RM75,000. Class 4 horses will run for RM15,00m instead of RM55,000 and Maiden horses will contest for just RM10,000.
