Another new trainer for Penang

PENANG,  20 Jan 2010

The trainer's rank in Penang, currently with the least number of trainers and horses, will be boosted by another trainer in the new season.

Tan Too Hock has been issued a trainer's licence after the Penang Turf Club (PNTC) granted him 64 stables, a huge number for a new trainer.

Late last year, PNTC also granted stables to Thomas Patrick Gillespie.

Penang born Tan, 45, began his career as a track rider with Lim Hock Bee in 1992. He then became a stable supervisor with Sennett Ho in 2003.

Three years later, he became assistant trainer to the late Roslan Pawanteh in September 2006 and following the death of Roslan in July last year, he teamed up with Jerome Tan.
