SINGAPORE:  Aug 12, 2011

Jockey Lim Hock Kheng has been disqualified two years for passing information via his mobile phone during January this year.

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Wednesday, Aug 10, in regard to a statement of interview following an inspection of the jockeys' room on Feb 20, Lim pleaded guilty to the following charges:

(1) under MRA Rule of Racing 106(5) in that on Sunday, Feb 20, he, whilst in the Jockeys’ Room, was found in possession of a mobile phone which he had taken into the Jockeys’ Room. Lim was fined a sum of S$1,000 and advised of his right of appeal.

(2) under MRA Rule of Racing 152(3) in that he, on various occasions in January 2011, acted in a manner which in the opinion of the Stewards is prejudicial to the integrity and proper conduct of horse racing in Singapore when he transmitted information via his mobile phone to various parties regarding horses engaged in various races and related to their respective chances in these races.
