Maynard saddles first winner on return

KUALA LUMPUR: Oct 28, 2012

Former Malaysia champion trainer Frank Maynard signalled his return to the circuit when he saddled HIGGS BOSON (God's Own - Aly's Affair by Colonial Affair) to victory in the Style.Elegance.Excitement Stakes (Class 4 - 1400m) at Sungei Besi here today.

After being issued his licence last May, the Perth trainer has taken his time to send out his team into battle and HIGGS BOSON was only his 10th runner this term.

HIGGS BOSON, a three-time winner on the polytrack in Singapore, was having his third outing in Malaysia since coming the under the care of Maynard.

Ridden by Azhar Ismail, the Australian gelding beat three other in-form horses to win by one and a quarter lengths.
