K'Aisisuhairi steals thunder with treble

After winning eight from eight on Friday evening, champion jockey Joao Moreira continued his winning run to take the first event at Kranji here today on BALLY BOY, and two races later completed a double on IRISH REBEL.

But it was apprentice K'Isisuhairi Kassim who stole the limelight today when he booted home three winners.

MAC VOLKS, placed third once in three starts in New Zealand, gave K'Isisuhairi the perfect start when he coasted home in his Singapore debut, winning by four and three-quarter lengths.

K'Isisuhairi had another easy victory astride CASINO KING before completing his treble astride TIGER MASTER. It was the first time the lad partnered both horses and showed great judgement to lead all the way on them.

The three wins brought his tally in Singapore to 52 for the season, and he sits nicely in fourth spot behind Moreira, Manoel Nunes and Alan Munro.

With three wins he recorded in Kuala Lumpur last month, he is just one win shy of Benny Woodworth's all-time record of 56 wins for an apprentice which was set in 1995.
