Second hat-trick of the year for Iwa Antilia

KUALA LUMPUR: Nov 17, 2013

Singapore discard IWA ANTILIA, who is already the galloper with the most number of wins in Malaysia this season, added one more to his name when he captured the Table 1 set-weight event over 1400m here today.

Ridden by Azhar Ismail, the Japanese gelding was tucked behind the leader early but took over the running at the top of the straight. He then held off the challenge of APRIL RAIN to win by half a length.

In winning his seventh and biggest win of the season, the Japanese gelding also recorded his second hat-trick of the year.

IWA ANTILIA managed two wins in 16 starts in Singapore before being sold to Malaysia in the middle of last year.

Under trainer Nor Azman, the gelding took a while before finding the mark but once he broke through, there has been no looking back.
