Brown extends stay to ride in Derby

SINGAPORE:  Jun 26, 2013

Corey Brown is extending his current stay in Singapore for two weeks, hoping to win the S$1.15 Emirates Singapore Derby for four-year-olds on Jul 14.

The Australian jockey is here on a two-month visit which will end on June 30 before flying off to France on pre-arranged stint.

But Melbourne Cup winning jockey has enjoyed a better than expected run at Kranji, winning 14 of 87 rides thus far, and could not pass up the chance to ride in the Derby and hopefully win it.

Brown applied and has been granted a two-week extension to his permit.

But it will not be the last we see of Brown, for he has also been granted a four-month permit from Sep 1 after his time in France.
