Flores gets the Cash at Kranji

After drawing a blank in his debut meting on Friday evening, visiting jockey David Flores entered the winner's circle at Kranji when he partnered DOUBLE CASH to a runaway win in the Class 5, Div 1 - 1100m sprint on the polytrack this afternoon.

The Australian three-year-old started a firm favourite after two good recent placings and gave his backers few anxious moments, settling in second spot before taking the lead at the top of the straight to win by three-and-a-quarter length.

"Steven (Lam) was one of the first people I met when I got here (on Tuesday morning) and he told me that he had a winner for me,” said Flores. "I’ve ridden winners in places like Hong Kong, Japan, England, Sweden, Turkey, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Dubai and now I can add Singapore to that list as well."

The Mexican-born rider will be riding GREENSTONE in next Sunday’s Group 1 Emirates Singapore Derby over 2000m.
