Flying Fulton takes wings again

FLYING FULTON claimed his first win of the season on his favourite surface when he made all the running in the Marsiling Classic Stakes (1800m) on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

With five wins on the polytrack including the New Year Cup, Polytrack Mile Championship and Colonial Chief Stakes, he was named the Champion Polytrack Horse last season.

The season has not started well for the Australian six-year-old, being unplaced in four starts and was the beaten odds-on favourite in this year's Polytrack Mile Championship last start.

A late change of rider to Jose Verenzuela did the gelding no harm at all today when FLYING FULTON finished three-quarter length ahead of LIZARRE.

Winning trainer Mark Walker said the gelding is likely to tackle the Moonbeam Vase (1800m) and the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2000m) next month before heading to the Singapore Airlines International Cup (2000m) in May.
