Great Light shines in the rain

GREAT LIGHT scores an easy win in the rain - SNTC photo

A delay of an hour for his race to get underway did not stop GREAT LIGHT from chalking up another victory in the Benchmark 89 sprint over 1100m on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

Heavy thunderstorm and lightning forced the delay and rain was still falling when GREAT LIGHT braved the downpour to win drawing away by one and three-quarter lengths with Joao Moreira in the saddle.

It was a step up in class after the the Argentinean gelding had won his last start in Class 3 company also on the polytrack last month.

GREAT LIGHT, who won his only start in his home country, has now won four times in Singapore with four different jockeys astride.
