Rafaga wins Carlsberg Cup second leg

KUALA LUMPUR: Sep 15, 2013

Former Singapore galloper RAFAGA recaptured some of his old form to win the second leg of the Carlsberg Cup challenge series at Sungei Besi here today.

It was his second start in the country and provided trainer Malcolm Thwaites with only his fourth win of the season.

RAFAGA won four races at Kranji in 2011 and began 2012 with a win before going off the radar.

The New Zealand gelding resumed after a seven-month spell with a smack-up ninth to JOE CZARINA in the Sultan Gold Vase in July and stepped up on that run to win the 1400m set-weight event today.
