Southern Boss completes second hat-trick

SOUTHERN BOSS called the shot once again to complete a second career hat-trick in the Benchmark 83 - 1000m handicap on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

Manoel Nunes rode the Australian gelding to his first hat-trick last year when trained by Leslie Khoo.

Now under the charge of Desmond Koh, SOUTHERN BOSS is now a model of consistency after a series of disappointing runs with his new trainer.

And it was the first chance since his hat-trick last year that Nunes renewed partnership with SOUTHERN BOSS and the polytrack specialist held off two fast-finishing runners to win by half a length.

"I know this horse so well and I’m very happy to be back on him and win," said Nunes who now leads the premiership with 61 wins.
