New apprentice Wong off the mark on Stub

After finishing unplaced in his debut ride last week, new apprentice Wong Chin Chuen was quick to learn from the experience when he booted home STUB in a Class 5 - 1600m handicap here today.

It was his only ride of the afternoon.

Wong was also nominated on STUB, trained by Peter Lee, last week but the Australia five-year-old failed to get a run as an emergency acceptor.

STUB, winner of his only race in Brisbane, was placed twice in eight runs in Singapore before crossing the causeway.

In Malaysia, STUB finally managed a win in February last year but has been unplaced since - until today. It was his second win in 25 starts in the country.
