Magneto just super in third Kranji start

It has not taken Argentinian black type winner MAGNETO long to make his mark in Singapore.

After finishing third in his debut and then finding one to beat just five days ago, the four-year-old entire outclassed his rivals to win the Benchmark 89 - 1400m handicap at Kranji here tonight.

With John Powell riding him for the first time today, MAGNETO went straight to the front compared with his last two starts and was never caught after that as he coasted home by two and a quarter lengths.

"There was always a worry but the way he pulled up after his last run, I felt he was going to run a good race today,” said trainer Patrick Sgaw. “In the end I think it was the right decision and he’s proven me right. I’m really happy with his performance.

MAGNETO had a win and a third in two runs at two and was unbeaten in four starts at three in Argentina, winning the listed Clasico Embrujo over 1600m at San Isidro.
