Apprentice Shafiq Rizuan continued his superb form this season by booting home a double at Kranji this afternoon, bringing his tally to 44 for the season and sits pretty in sixth spot in the table.

But it was apprentices Hasri Rahiman and Kif Toh who had perhaps more reasons to celebrate their respective win today.

Hasri joined trainer Mok Zhan Lun last year after riding four winners in two years with Shane Baertschiger.

His win on HOST THE NATIONA in the Class 4 - 1200m sprint on the polytrack was his first in 21 months and first for Mok.

"I almost decided I would not come back after things didn’t work out with Shane," said Hasri. "Luckily Mok took me as his apprentice. I’d like to thank him for giving me a second chance."

Toh partnered ITALIAN JOB to an easy victory in the Benchmark 97 - 1000m handicap on the polytrack in yet another comeback for the lad.

Toh was riding high last year until he fractured his spine in a fall in June. He made a comeback last April and ride two winners before breaking a finger a month later and was sidelined again.
