The first time Michael Rodd rode DEBT COLLECTOR nearly two weeks ago, he was dislodged from the New Zealand gelding when the three-year-old blundered badly after travelling only 400m in a 1400m Restricted Maiden event.

Despite that unfortunate incident, Rodd was back in the saddle on DEBT COLLECTOR when he tackled a much longer trip over 1600m at Kranji here tonight.

All was forgiven for Rodd as he brought DEBT COLLECTOR from last early to win drawing away by one and a half lengths.

It was the fourth start for the gelding which trainer Cliff Brown bought for NZ$120,000 at the Ready To Run sale.

"He has a good turn of foot, relaxes in the race and finishes good," said Rodd who, along with Manoel Nunes, Corey Crown and Alan Munro, has been granted a 12-month licence by the Singapore Turf Club for the 2016 season.

Barend Vorster, Nooresh Juglall, Antonio Da Silva and John Powell have been granted six-month licences from Jan 1. Danny Beasley will return for a five-month stint from Feb 1.
