Favourites fail to score at Sungei Besi

KUALA LUMPUR: Jan 24, 2014

It was dark day for punters at Sungei Besi here today when no favourites obliged in a card of eight races.

The odds-on favourite in the first two races, SEA MASTER and DARK EXPRESS, found one to beat while in the third event, AKITA, finished down the field.

It was a good day for jockey Benny Woodworth, though, who has yet to land a winner at Kranji this season but a quick dash back to Kuala Lumpur earned him a double astride ACE SURPRISE and ORIENTAL SPIRIT, bringing his tally at Sungei Besi to five for the year.

Apprentice Lim Aun Kean also booted home a double on CHASE THE DREAM and TIGER STRIPES.
