Kiwi Karma bags Singapore 3YO Sprint

KIWI KARMA, the only horse to have defeated the champion juvenile AFFLECK last year when they were both trained by Laurie laxon, repeated the feat again today when she lowered the colours of the favourite in the S$200,000 Dester Singapore 3YO Sprint at Kranji here today.

KIWI KARMA switched stables to Michael Clements this year and is unbeaten in three starts under her new trainer while AFFLECK was resuming after nearly five months on the sidelines.

"AFFLECK was first-up and was not on his right distance and my filly was on the correct one and she had the fitness edge," said Clements. "The higher they go, the better AFFLECK will get, but KIWI KARMA is such a fighter."

Singapore 3YO Classic, the second leg of the Three-Year-Old series, will be run over 1400m in two weeks and the final leg, the Group 1 Singapore Guineas (1600m) will be held next month.

KIWI KARMA was the third leg of a brilliant quadruple for Manoel Nunes who was back in action after serving a suspension.
