Krishna off the mark with a double

PENANG: Aug 16, 2015

Rookie apprentice Krishna Kumar Thangamani was off the mark winning back-to-back races as apprentices stole the thunder from their seniors when they captured seven of the eight races on the card here today.

Sharing honours with Krishna was Mohd Aizat Abdul Malik with a double of his own.

Krishna was placed once from seven rides before today and made no mistake with his only two rides of the afternoon, KINGSHIP ADMIRAL and SANDY MIGHT, for his master Richard Lines.

It was the first win in five starts this season and fourth career win for eight-year-old KINGSHIP ADMIRAL.

SANDY MIGHT was having his second start in Malaysia after being unplaced in three outings in Singapore last year. The gelding was placed once in four starts in Australia.

Both horses were purchased as a yearling by retired trainer Dr Yeoh Kheng Chye.
