Narrow win for Eclipse's Secret in debut

KUALA LUMPUR: Apr 25, 2015

After a lengthy wait to his racing debut, ECLIPSE'S SECRET made it count when he scored first-up in the Restricted Maiden - 1200m sprint at Sungei Besi here today.

The New Zealand gelding was purchased for NZ$45,000 at the Ready-To-Run sale with racing at Kranji in mind. He landed in Singapore on March 1 last year but never raced there and was dispatched to Kuala Lumpur to join trainer Frank Maynard.

ECLIPSE'S SECRET, ridden by champion jockey Jose De Souza, started even-money favourite but has to battle hard before winning by a short head from PROHIBITION.

Home based trainers made a clean sweep of the eight races on the card.
