Lee Bank back in the money

LEE BANK was back in the money in the Perak Turf Club Trophy at Kranji here today, but after finishing last in each of his last four starts, his win came as a shock to many.

With apprentice Zawari Razali in the saddle, the English seven-year-old was racing much closer to the pace than his last four starts and was able to go on to win by 1 1/2 lengths in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1100m sprint on the polytrack.

The gelding's only other win in Singapore came on Jan 1 last year and has otherwise been disappointing for the former three-time winner in Italy. Unsurprisingly, LEE BANK paid $188 for a win.

SUPER WINNER stepped up his third to ZAC SPIRIT in the Group 1 Lion City Cup last time out to win the Royal Turf Club of Thailand Trophy, the Kranji Stakes A event over 1100m.

It was his ninth win in 16 starts for the gelding who was purchased by his trainer Theo Kieser for just A$35,000 as a yearling.
