Charles Leck scores comeback win

SINGAPORE: Nov 2016

Former Singapore champion trainer Charles Leck marked his return to the racing scene after a lapse of several years when he saddled BROWCOW to victory in the Power Toto 6/55 Stakes at Sungei Besi here today.

The Australian gelding raced for two seasons down under. After a sequence of eight placings, he finally broke through for a win in a Maiden event at a country track before coming over to Malaysia.

Leck made his comeback a few weeks ago and has been sending out horses he took over from other trainers, BROWCOW being the exception.

The four-year-old quickly made his mark in his Malaysian debut when he overcame a wide draw to win the Class 4 - 1200m sprint today.

Meanwhile, BLACK AND WHITE chalked up his fifth win of the season when he carved out a narrow win in the RM102,500 Sports Toto Challenge Trophy over 1400m.

The Australian six-year-old has now won 14 times in 46 starts.
