Juglall celebrates birthday with win

Jockey Nooresh Juglall celebrated his birthday in style when he booted home RAFAELLO to win the main event, the Benchmark 83 - 1200m sprint at Kranji here tonight.

The Australian three-year-old, who started favourite, did not let his backers down as he battled to beat the second elect FLAK JACKET by a neck.

"I knew RAFAELLO was my best chance for a nice birthday present tonight and he didn’t let me down," said the Mauritian jockey. "It would have been nice to get another winner with King Of Thieves, but it’s still okay to get at least one winner."

Two races earlier, Juglall was beaten a nose on outsider KING OF THIEVES.

It was the fifth win in 14 starts for RAFAELLO.
