Well Done for David Kok and Glen Boss

The Patron's Bowl (1600m) was supposed to be a prep run for WELL DONE in the run-up to the Derby next month but the son of Falkirk has outdone himself by winning the Singapore Group 1 event at Kranji here today.

Ridden for the first time by Glen Boss, the New Zealand gelding, purchased by his owner for NZ$90,000 at the Ready To Run sale, came from midfield to win by a neck from the fast-finishing MAJESTIC MOMENTS.

"It’s great for (owner) Jason Goh) who has been very patient with this horse. He hand-picked this horse himself at the sale when he himself was only learning about horse ownership, and though the beginning was tough, he was very patient and now he has a Group 1 winner," said trainer David Kok whose only other Group 1 win was with CASH LUCK in the Kranji Mile in 2013.

For three-time Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Boss, it was his second consecutive Group 1 success after having piloted LAUGHING GRAVY to victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup two weeks ago.

It's now six wins from 16 starts and earnings of S$521,000 for WELL DONE with the Derby looming.
