Big upset by Immortal Legacy

SINGAPORE: Jul 14, 2017

IMMORTAL LEGACY showed up for the first time in 11 starts to register a huge upset in the Maiden - 1200m event on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

The Australian gelding, ridden by John Sundradas, settled in fifth in the 10-horse field but was still a long way from the leader, KING OF WAR, at the top of the straight.

John took IMMORTAL LEGACY wide out for his run to the post and three-year-old opened up nicely to pip the favourite KING OF WAY by a neck. The winner paid $261 for a win.

Meanwhile, jockey Oliver Placais made a winning comeback after serving a three-month suspension to score on SUPER FORTUNE in the final event.

The Australian gelding, who scored once and was placed three times in six starts in Australia, was making his Singapore debut.
