Pike lands maiden Singapore win

William Pike made his second visit to Singapore today following his maiden appearance in the Patrons' Bowl last month.

Athough he just came up short in his main target, the Emirates Singapore Derby, finishing second on LIM'S SAMURAI, he nevertheless broke through for his maiden success at Kranji astride CHAIRMAN.

Five races later, the eight-time Perth champion jockey completed a double with MR CROWE.

"It’s great to get the opportunity (to ride here) a second time. I had tricky draws the last time I was here, but I sure enjoyed my visit," said Pike who was unplaced on LIM'S SAMURAI inn the Patrons' Bowl in his last visit. "I’m of course glad I got my first winner here in Singapore."
