Spectacular upset by Black Tristar

KUALA LUMPUR: Feb 25, 2017

BLACK TRISTAR, who had finished last in his previous two outings, produced a stunning reversal of form in the Class 5 - 1700m handicap at Sungei Best here today to record the biggest upset yet in the 2016 season in Malaysia.

The Japanese gelding fared badly in three starts in Singapore and only made his breakthrough last July when he scored over 1700m on this track.

Today was the first time since then he was tested over the distance and it produced a stunning result. BLACK TRISTAR paid RM414 when he defeated the favourite STREET CHAMP.

The last two races today were cancelled due to the adverse weather with thunder and lightning in the vicinity of the racecourse.
