Rodd cracks the whip with hat-trick

After drawing a blank during last week's two big meetings, Michael Rodd made up for it when he booted home three winners from three rides at Kranji here tonight.

Rodd started the evening with an easy win on the well-backed second favourite LIBECCIO who broke the duck in his 20th outing in Singapore in the Maiden - 1200m sprint on the polytrack, after being placed in three of four runs in Australia.

Rodd then gave punters plenty to cheer for popular wins in the next event on odds-on favourites TESORO PRIVADO and LONHRO GOLD.

After finishing fourth in the Group 2 3YO Classic and also the Group 1 Singapore Guineas, TESORO PRIVADO romped home by three lengths in the Class 3 - 1400m handicap. It was his fourth win in 12 starts.

After two easy wins, Rodd had to work harder on LONHRO GOLD who made all the running in the Restricted Maiden, Div 2 event over 1000m on the polytrack, but had to fight hard to win by a neck. It was his maiden win in 11 starts.

"I thought I would have a good night tonight. I had some very nice rides on paper," said Rodd."But you need a lot of luck in racing, anything can happen, especially on Polytrack, but everything just panned out well."
