John is Inpower with hat-trick

Jockey John Sundradas took riding honours at Kranji here tonight when he scored in three consecutive races.

First up was the odds-on favourite GOLDEN KID in the Open Maiden, Div 1 event over 1200m. The Per Incanto gelding was placed in three of four runs and gave his backers no anxious moment as he romped home by 3 1/2 lengths.

John then brought BRACED from well off the pace early to win the Class 4 - 1700m handicap. It was the first showing for the gelding in seven runs in Singapore. The son of Postponed won once from two runs at four in New Zealand before coming to Singapore.

John had partnered PER INPOWER to win his last two starts and the pair completed a hat-trick in winning the Class 3 - 1400m handicap. It was the fourth win in 10 runs for the New Zealand gelding. Surprisingly, he paid a handsome $61 despite his recent form.

"I knew I had a nice book of rides tonight. I thought PER INPOWER was my best chance and I also made STRONG N POWERFUL a very good chance, while GOLDEN KID became a top chance after PINDUS was scratched, he won easy," said John.

"I’ve won three before, but it could have been four if Strong N Powerful was not so green. He was going in and out, and just missed out." STRONG N POWERFUL finished fourth in a four-way photo finish.
