Siam Warrior slays rivals for third win

SIAM WARRIOR has started the new year even better than his first season last year when he made a winning debut in Singapore.

The Exceed And Excel gelding has to wait until three weeks ago to land his second win at Kranji. And the five-year-old followed it up today when he easily won the Class 3 - 1200m handicap.

Vlad Duric, who rode him in a race for the first time last start, tucked him just behind the pace before romping to a 1 1/2-length win.

"After his last win, he pulled up okay but a few days later, he had a swollen hind leg," said trainer James Peters. "Luckily, he came right and got through that. He had a jumpout and it was all good for him. He’s really thriving."

SIAM WARRIOR was placed in three of five starts as a juvenile in Australia. He won twice turning three from another five runs and was unplaced once at four before heading for Singapore.
