King Of Glory hits headline with upset win

KING OF GLORY has not exactly lived up to his name since his arrival five years ago.

The American gelding managed just one third placing in 33 starts in Singapore before moving to Malaysia.

His best effort in 12 runs in the country were two four-placed finish last year and his recent form has been anything but inspiring.

But KING OF GLORY hit the headline here today when he came from midfield, charged at the leaders with less than 200m to go, then drew away in the closing stages to win by five lengths. He paid RM219 for his maiden win.

GIANT KILLING also did what his name suggests when he charged home to take a Class 5 - 1200m handicap here today to pay RM147.

The Jet Spur gelding scored just one win in 32 starts in Singapore and the closest he managed in five starts since his transfer to Malaysia was a fifth-placed finish three runs back.
