So Hi Class stamps his mark in Kranji Stakes

After SO HI CLASS won his fourth start in Malaysia, the Irish gelding was immediately dispatched to Singapore to continue his racing career.

The son of Dark Angel had come over from England with a win, two second placings and three fourth-placed finishes in nine runs as a juvenile.

SO HI CLASS did not take long to make his mark in Singapore as well, winning his fourth start at Kranji. He went on to pick up four more wins, including back-to-back wins in Class 3 last year.

SO HI CLASS then took on the best in the Kranji Mile, Raffles Cup and Singapore Gold Cup, finishing third to HARD TOO THINK in the Raffles Cup. He has largely been disappointing since although he came second in a Class 2 race over 1600m last start.

Ridden by Koh Teck Huat, SO HI CLASS came from just off the pace to win the Kranji Stakes A event over 1400m at Kranji here today.

"He gave me a good feel today. We jumped handy, travelled nice and I nursed him a bit into the straight," said Koh.

"I was confident but he hung in a bit so I had to put the whip away, but once he crossed the favourite (SPRITIR OF BIG BANG), I knew we had won.

"He had been working well and is always up there – the small field helped today - and with 53kgs, he was always a chance to win."
