Grand Choice lands Joseph Leck fifth win

Budding trainer Joseph Leck picked up his fifth win since making his debut in mid-April when he saddled GRAND CHOICE to victory in the Class 4 - 1100m sprint here today when only four races were staged.

Joseph took over the Australian gelding from his uncle Charles when he set up his own stables and the nine-year-old found one to beat last month after attempting to lead all the way on the No 2 track at Sungai Besi.

Ridden once again by Clyde Leck, GRAND CHOICE again went to the front after the jump. He was nicely clear at the 200m but then the challengers came charging home in the concluding stages.

This time, however, GRAND CHOICE held on to win by half a length.

Winner of two races in Singapore, the son of Master Of Design also won six races for Charles.
