NOVEMBER HOME-BASED MEETING
Sunday,  1 November 2015

 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1600M

WINNING LINE, a course scratching as it was lame off-fore, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

GLORY BETTING (App Z Khairil) and WORLD SUPERMAN (M Razali) were both restless after being placed in the barrier and as the start was effected, WORLD SUPERMAN kicked the back gates and jumped awkwardly.

KEY LARGOLD (App KC Wong) was a little slow to begin and showed no early pace.

SHINING SUPREME (App SU Lim) hesitated at the start and was slow to begin.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that MR VICTORY (S Salee) returned having cast its off-fore plate.

Post-race veterinary examinations of WORLD SUPERMAN and SHINING SUPREME revealed no obvious abnormality. WORLD SUPERMAN, HALIM’S GIFT (App S Shafrizal) and YES MADAM (App CT Lee), which all raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again. SHINING SUPREME was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

 RACE 2:  CLASS 4 - 1400M

Acting on a report from the Starter that STORM HERO (App M Hanif) was difficult to be boxed and caused some delay, the gelding will be required to pass a test (one starting stall) before being declared to race again.

FLY NOW (M Razali) was restless in the barrier.

At the start, KIM PROTECTOR (J Shankar) was a little slow to begin and showed no early pace.

JEFFERSON BAY (App Z Khairil) was a little slow into stride after the start.

FLY NOW, which was pulling hard, was difficult to settle and steadied off the heels of VICTORY MARCH (App SU Lim) at about the 800m.

WHITE PILLOW (WK Yan) drifted outwards in the home straight and finished the race wide.

At about the 50m, DEVIL BULL (App R Fakruddin) steadied outwards around the heels of STORM HERO which continued to lay inwards.

Jockey J Shankar, the rider of KIM PROTECTOR, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of VICTORY MARCH, HAPPY CHOICE (S Salee) and DEVIL BULL revealed no obvious abnormality. HAPPY CHOICE and DEVIL BULL were both impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

 RACE 3:  COSMO B - 1300M

BABY POLO (M Yusri) jumped awkwardly with its head up and was slow to begin.

At about the 1100m, GHOST STREET (F Yap) which was pulling hard, made contact with DROGBA (App F Yussoff).

GHOST STREET dipped at about the 800m.

A post-race veterinary examination of PRE DAWN (S Salee) revealed that the gelding returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again. PRE DAWN was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

 RACE 4:  OPEN MAIDEN - 1200M

SASSO MAN, which was down 17kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

SASSO MAN (App S Shafrizal) was a little slow into stride and showed no pace throughout.

Approaching the turn at about the 800m, TOMORROW’S GOLD (App CT Lee) steadied when racing tight on the inside of MULTI WEALTH (App Z Khairil) and shortly afterwards, TOMORROW’S GOLD dipped.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SASSO MAN bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b). Thereafter SASSO MAN will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of KATNISS (SS Vanan) revealed no obvious abnormality. KATNISS, which raced poorly will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again. The filly was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 4 - 1100M

The race was rescheduled to start at 3.50 pm.

LA FAMILIA, which was up 40kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Stewards acceded to a request by Trainer J Tan for the removal of the blinker/pacifier on SPEED FLYING (App S Shafrizal) due to the "Heavy" track conditions.

At the start, INDOMITABLE RHINO (App M Hanif) jumped awkwardly with its head in the air.

BAZINGA (S Thai Yang) jumped awkwardly inwards at the start and was a little slow to begin and approaching the 200m, switched outwards around the heels of CHUNGHUA (App CT Lee). Jockey S Thai Yang would be questioned regarding his riding of this horse in the home straight.

Shortly after the start, OUR FRIENDLY DIVA (App I Amirul) was bumped between SCOTTIE (App Z Khairil) and SELECT GATHERING (App AK Lim) which jumped awkwardly inwards.

LA FAMILIA (M Wepner) was caught wide on the bend in the home straight.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that SCOTTIE returned having cast its off-fore plate.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CIZEN MAN (App KC Wong) and SELECT GATHERING revealed no obvious abnormality. CIZEN MAN was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

App M Hanif, the rider of INDOMITABLE RHINO reported that his mount did not act in the "Heavy" going.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 4 - 1100M

The race was rescheduled to start at 4.20 pm.

Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of the race.

ZENIDEKKA (F Yap) fly-jumped at the start and was a little slow to begin.

Rounding the turn at about the 500m, CUSTODIAN (S Thai Yang) dipped and steadied when tightened on the inside of BLACK VISCOUNT (J Shankar) which rolled inwards slightly.

ZENIDEKKA was trapped wide on the bend into the home straight.

BLACK VISCOUNT compounded and lost speed in the home straight.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CUSTODIAN and BLACK VISCOUNT revealed no obvious abnormality. BLACK VISCOUNT was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that CIZEN GIFT (App KC Wong) returned having cast its off-fore plate.

App M Hanif, the rider of SEE FOR YOURSELF, was dislodged after the race during the pull-up, however was not injured.

 RACE 7:  CLASS 5 - 1100M

Emergency acceptor MARYLEBONE PARK was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

Trainer S Hamilton was fined RM100 under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on PRERICH (S Salee).

App WT Chung was fined RM500 for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for not being able to make the carded weight on CIZEN BROTHER.

The Stewards permitted App I Amirul to ride MAKEMEAMILLION when App R Fakruddin was unable to make the carded weight. Subsequently, App R Fakruddin left the course despite being advised by the Stewards that this matter was being investigated and he was not to leave the course.

After considering the matter, App R Fakruddin was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect until such time that he attends an inquiry into this matter and is cleared by the Stewards to continue race riding.

The Inquiry into this matter will be held at a date to be fixed.

The race was rescheduled to start at 4.50 pm.

Light rain fell prior to and during the running of this race.

MR DREYFUSS (App M Hanif) cast its off-fore plate at the saddling enclosure, was re-shod, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. After being placed in the starting stalls, MR DREYFUSS reared up whilst being held by the handler, got its head into the next stall and fly-jumped awkwardly, dislodging App M Hanif. Prior to the "All Clear" being given, the Racing Stewards reviewed the video replay of the start and they were of the opinion that MR DREYFUSS had been denied a fair start and declared MR DREYFUSS to be a non-runner in terms of MRA Rule 115.

At the start, GHOST SPEEDY (M Razali) and DON’TSTOPBELIEVING (App CT Lee) were slow into stride.

BLACK AHEAD (App SU Lim) was pulling and was difficult to settle in the back straight and was caught wide on the first turn.

PRERICH raced wide on the turn at the 800m.

Rounding the turn at about the 600m, MAKEMEAMILLION broke down and lost speed quickly and was pulled out of the race. REEL SCHMICK (App S Shafrizal) racing on the outside of MAKEMEAMILLION, was carried wide in this incident.

All riders returned to scale an average of ½kg overweight due to the adverse weather conditions.

An inquiry into the running and handling of PRERICH by Jockey S Salee was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAKEMEAMILLION ruptured its near-fore suspensory ligament and was humanely euthanized. App I Amirul, the rider of MAKEMEAMILLION, was exempted from weighing in.

A post-race veterinary examination of BLACK AHEAD revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

App KC Wong, the rider of CIZEN BROTHER, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.

POST-RACE URINE: SUNDAY, 18 OCTOBER 2015
PENANG MID OCTOBER HOME-BASED MEETING 2015

The report dated 29th October 2015 (V15/135) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 23 coded urine and 27 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 19 October 2015, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected

The report dated 29 October 2015 (V15/136) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 19 October 2015, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

PNTC TRACKWORK - TUESDAY, 27 OCTOBER 2015

Following a barrier trial at PNTC on 27 October 2015, the Stewards instructed Snr. Track Rider Rosmizan bin Suhaimi to give a urine sample for analysis.

Snr. Track Rider Rosmizan bin Suhaimi subsequently refused to give a urine sample and an inquiry into this matter will be held at a date to be fixed.  Furthermore Rosmizan bin Suhaimi has been ‘stood down’ by the Stewards until further notice and until such a time that he produces a clear sample.

Trainer/employer J Tan has been advised that Rosmizan bin Suhaimi has been ‘stood down’ and is not permitted to enter the stables and/or ride another horse until cleared by the Stewards.

The following horses have undergone corrective surgery at the PRTC Veterinary Hospital and will be subject to the Steward’s Embargo before being declared to race again:-
