 RACE 1:  MAIDEN - 1400M

HUSSONATOR (O Chavez), which stood flat-footed, lost considerable ground and was very reluctant to stride out in the early stages, will be required to pass two consecutive starting stall tests prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

DASHING (App CC Wong) was difficult to be loaded into the barrier. Trainer D Hill was advised that a warning has been placed on DASHING regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

KNIGHT’S CHARISMA (App MM Firdaus) was severely crowded on jumping between VOLCANO (App J See), which jumped inwards and TEMBUSU ESTRELA (M Nunes), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

Shortly after the start, ABOVE REACH (TH Koh) became unbalanced after making contact with TEMBUSU ESTRELA.

DASHING laid outwards making the turn into the straight.

HUSSONATOR hung inwards badly in the straight.

TEMBUSU ESTRELA was inclined to lay inwards over the final 100m.

App MM Firdaus reported that KNIGHT’S CHARISMA returned lame. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. KNIGHT’S CHARISMA will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1200M

Prior to the running of Race 2, Trainer S Yeoh advised the Stewards that his instructions to Jockey B Vorster, the rider of GOLD PIN, if circumstances permit, to try and ride in a forward position.

EASTERN TOWKAY (R Woodworth) was bumped by RAINBOW FISH (App J See), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

URASHIMA TARO (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi) was bumped by GOLD PIN, which jumped awkwardly outwards. Shortly after, URASHIMA TARO and GOLD PIN were both severely crowded for room between WHITE SHADOW (E Chaves), which was bumped inwards by TRUMPS UP (A Munro) and EASTERN TOWKAY, which shifted outwards and away from RAINBOW FISH. This resulted in GOLD PIN losing ground.

URASHIMA TARO proved difficult to settle in the early stages.

Approaching the 1000m, RAINBOW FISH momentarily eased to avoid the heels of SUPERTEN (M Zaki), which shifted inwards.

EASTERN TOWKAY and URASHIMA TARO bumped near the 800m.

PUSONG PINOY (A Da Silva) and SUPERTEN brushed on a couple of occasions passing the 300m.

Jockey M Rodd, when questioned regarding the run of ARCHER COMPANY, stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding off the pace. He further stated that making the turn into the straight, he was held up on the heels of EASTERN TOWKAY and to the inside of GOLD PIN and BRAVE BLOSSOM (K Fujii). Then, near the 400m, he elected to come to the inside of EASTERN TOWKAY, however, after commencing to improve to that gelding’s inside, he momentarily steadied when EASTERN TOWKAY had a tendency to lay inwards. Thereafter, ARCHER COMPANY responded when he placed it under pressure and when making ground quickly, he had to check ARCHER COMPANY outwards to avoid the heels of PUSONG PINOY. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ARCHER COMPANY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1400M

JIMTOWN (App T See), which was slow to begin, showed no early pace.

LION WAVE (A Da Silva) began awkwardly.

HEAVENLY GIFT (App CC Wong) steadied shortly after the start, when crowded between DRAGON STEED (M Kellady) and ZAC COMMAND (App CK Ng), which shifted inwards.

GOLD CROWN (CW Brown), CONGOR ZANDOR (R Woodworth) and WARSPIRIT (O Chavez) all raced wide throughout.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HEE’S EGO (M Nunes) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 4:  INITIATION - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

GOOD BET (App WT Chung) was hampered on jumping when BALKAN CHALLENGER (A Munro) shifted outwards after jumping away awkwardly.

PANACHE (B Vorster) was slow into stride.

GOLDEN FORTUNE (O Chavez), which jumped away awkwardly, was severely crowded shortly after the start between HACKER (App J See) and FULL BET (R Woodworth), which shifted inwards abruptly.

DUKE OF AZMAAN (M Nunes) raced keenly in the early stages.

Passing the 800m, LIM’S CHARGE (App R Firdhaus) was momentarily crowded between DUKE OF AZMAAN and GOOD BET, which shifted inwards.

GOLDEN FORTUNE, BALKAN CHALLENGER and HACKER all raced wide throughout.

GOLDEN FORTUNE was inclined to lay inwards in the straight obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.

DUKE OF AZMAAN laid outwards over the final 200m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GOLDEN FORTUNE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 5:  BENCHMARK 74 - 1400M

ODE TO JOY (A Munro) and BONJOUR BOB (M Zaki) brushed on jumping.

Approximately 50m after the start, WINNING CAUSE (B Vorster) and WELL DONE (M Nunes) made contact.

Approaching the 1300m, WINNING CAUSE and WELL DONE both checked when racing to the inside of LIM’S RALLY (App R Firdhaus). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

WELL DONE then proved difficult to settle for some distance approaching the 800m.

Approaching the 700m, BONJOUR BOB checked off the heels of SMART IDEA (App CS Chin), which in turn checked off the heels of CASING ROYAL (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi) when that horse was checked when racing to the inside of BOGART (M Rodd) and LIM’S RALLY. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Approaching the 600m, CASING ROYAL had to be eased after racing up onto the heels of BOGART.

WELL DONE raced wide from the 600m.

Making the turn into the straight, WINNING CAUSE and WELL DONE made contact on a couple of occasions.

Shortly after passing the 300m, ODE TO JOY had to be taken outwards to obtain clear running.

Near the 250m, LIM’S RALLY laid inwards obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Near the 200m, BOGART was buffeted when racing between CASING ROYAL and VERTICAL START (E Chaves).

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on CASING ROYAL which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1400M

AMI ELEVEN (R Woodworth) was bumped by ZENZERO (M Zaki), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

SECONDWAVE (A Munro) was bumped by GREENBACK (App R Firdhaus), which jumped awkwardly outwards.

Shortly after the start, SIMPANG (App CC Wong) was crowded for room between EASY EASY (App WT Chung) and APPELLATION (App CK Ng), which shifted inwards.

Near the 1000m, EASY EASY shifted inwards and away from GOOD LOOUKEN (App WS Chan) and brushed the running rail on a couple of occasions.

APPELLATION, VITALLY SECRET (E Aslam) and GREENBACK all raced wide throughout.

Near the 800m, AMI ELEVEN had to be eased when tightened between GREENBACK and ADRENALINE (M Nunes), which rolled outwards marginally.

Near the 600m, GOOD LOOUKEN had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of AMI ELEVEN. SIMPANG, which was following, had to be steadied in consequence.

Approaching the 200m, ADRENALINE was carried outwards by HAPPY CAT (App J See), which was inclined to lay outwards under pressure. Shortly after, ADRENALINE had to be momentarily eased when crowded to the inside of APPELLATION, which laid inwards under pressure.

ZENZERO laid outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

The Farrier reported that APPELLATION and EASY EASY returned having cast their near-fore and off-fore plates respectively.

GOOD LOOUKEN, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Jockey B Vorster reported that SACRED CROWN was making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. SACRED CROWN, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 7:  KRANJI STAKS D - 2200M

GALAXY EXPRESS (K Fujii) was difficult to be loaded into the barrier. Trainer H Takaoka was advised that a warning has been placed on GALAXY EXPRESS regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

SUNNY (S Sam) and NOVA POWER (App Y Salim) bumped on jumping. Shortly after, SUNNY and NOVA POWER were both crowded between BLADEMEISTER (M Nunes) and TANGIBLE ASSETS (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi), which shifted outwards.

Near the 1500m, BLADEMEISTER had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of SALUT AMOUR (A Da Silva).

Approaching the 1200m, BLADEMEISTER again had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of SALUT AMOUR. When being steadied, BLADEMEISTER shifted inwards, momentarily crowding SUNNY.

Approaching the 200m, GALAXY EXPRESS shifted inwards abruptly obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.

ZAC BENEVOLENT (CW Brown) shifted outwards under pressure over the final 200m, carrying SALUT AMOUR wider on the track.

TANGIBLE ASSETS was inclined to lay inwards for the majority of the homestraight.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BLADEMEISTER which revealed that the horse exhibited signs of respiratory distress after the race. BLADEMEISTER will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 1 - 1200M

RAISE NO DOUBT (CW Brown) jumped away awkwardly, resulting in it shifting outwards and making contact with KIWI KARMA (M Nunes).

Approaching the 450m, GOODMAN (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi) had to be momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of KIWI KARMA.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MAKKURA (M Rodd) which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 9:  CLASS 4 - 1400M

RUSTY BROWN (J Powell) was difficult to be loaded into the barrier. Trainer M Freedman was advised that a warning has been placed on RUSTY BROWN regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

Shortly after the start, HIGHER SOUL (Jockey K A’Isisuhairi) was tightened for room between CAPTIVATE (App R Sazali) and GRAVITY (App M Jailani), which shifted inwards. Shortly after, KINGS RYKER (M Rodd) had to be eased off the heels of INTENSE GOLD (CW Brown) after being taken inwards by CAPTIVATE, which was carried inwards by GRAVITY.

Approaching the 1000m, ASPREY (M Nunes) had to be eased to avoid the heels of CAPTIVATE, which shifted inwards abruptly. App Sazali was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Approaching the 900m, KINGS RYKER, which was laying outwards slightly, had to be steadied off the heels of LIM’S AFFECTION (KB Soo), which shifted inwards slightly.

LIM’S AFFECTION raced wide throughout.

HIGHER SOUL was held up and unable to improve between the 500m until leaving the 300m.

Over the concluding stages, INTENSE GOLD had to be eased when tightened for room on the inside of HIGH COUNCIL, which shifted inwards slightly.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on all INTENSE GOLD, KINGS RYKER and MANGATOETOENUI (App R Rueven) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

On Monday, 11 January 2016, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that GOLDEN IRON (App M Jailani) returned with a heart condition. GOLDEN IRON will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
