 RACE 1:  KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 1 - 1600M

After arriving at the barrier, PERFECT CHALLENGER (App MM Firdaus) had its saddle readjusted.

LUCKY STRATEGY (B Vorster) and HIPPO PROSPERO (S Sam) were both slow into stride.

DRAGON (D Beasley) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped DAMON (M Nunes) out onto ROSEGOLD (App CC Wong), which in turn made contact with ARCHER COMPANY (E Chaves).

PUZZLE (App I Amirul) raced keenly in the early stages.

PERFECT CHALLENGER raced wide throughout.

Shortly after passing the 800m, MEAISIN (V Duric) had to be steadied after being awkwardly placed on the heels of DAMON.

Making the turn into the straight, PERFECT CHALLENGER was carried wider when DAMON steadied outwards off the heels of ROSEGOLD, which shifted outwards across the heels of AMAZING (CW Brown) to obtain clear running.

HIPPO PROSPERO hung outwards making the turn into the straight.

Shortly after passing the 400m, MEAISIN momentarily steadied when racing to the inside of DAMON.

DRAGON had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400m and the 200m.

Passing the 350m, DAMON shifted inwards abruptly resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Passing the 200m, ARCHER COMPANY brushed the running rail.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that ARCHER COMPANY returned with a cut on its off-fore outside pastern.

 RACE 2:  INITIATION - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

SATELLITE LEGEND (TH Koh), which was restless in the barrier, was slow into stride.

GENUINE (App MM Firdaus) began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, STAR GENIUS (App CK Ng) was bumped by SATELLITE LEGEND, which was carried inwards by MS KIDMAN (E Chaves).

GLORIOUS WEALTH (M Zaki), which was slow into stride, shifted inwards after the start and had to be eased off the heels of VINTAGE VERDOT (R Shafiq).

MS KIDMAN hung outwards badly from the 900m placing its rider at a disadvantage. MS KIDMAN will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Approaching the 700m, SATELLITE MAN (M Nunes), which was racing keenly, shifted inwards and brushed ABOVE THE MILLION (R Woodworth). SATELLITE MAN then shifted outwards abruptly, resulting in MS KIDMAN, which was following, having to be steadied.

Near the 700m, STAR GENIUS had to be eased after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of ABOVE THE MILLION.

 

Making the turn into the straight, ABOVE THE MILLION and SATELLITE MAN both became unbalanced after making heavy contact.

STAR GENIUS laid inwards over the final 200m.

The Farrier reported that LLYNA (I Saifudin) returned having cast its off-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MS KIDMAN which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

SATELLITE MAN was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 4 - 1700M (POLYTRACK)

Jockey M Nunes, the rider of IDYLLIC SCENERY, lost his off-side stirrup iron after jumping away awkwardly. He was able to regain his stirrup iron shortly thereafter.

STARPERFECT (M Kellady) was slow into stride.

DRAGON G (App T See), which jumped away awkwardly, was crowded shortly after the start between ECLIPSE DANCER (CW Brown), which shifted inwards and ROBIN HOOD (D Beasley), which rolled outwards.

BAAB AL NASR (App R Firdhaus) raced keenly in the early stages.

ROBIN HOOD was inclined to hang inwards in the straight placing its rider at a disadvantage.

BAAB AL NASR hung outwards from the 300m

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both IDYLLIC SCENERY and BAAB AL NASR which revealed no apparent abnormality.

Ricardo De Grange, Trainer P Shaw’s B Trainer, when questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of SUPER JOE (B Vorster), stated that he believed the return to the Polytrack and the fast pace in today’s race had suited the gelding. His explanation was noted.

 RACE 4:  INITIATION - 1400M

Trainer S Burridge was fined a sum of S$500 for failing to ensure that AUSONE (D Beasley) was in the Pre-Race Holding Area within the prescribed time in terms of MRA Rule 109(1).

HUSSONATOR (R Shafiq) was slow to begin.

Near the 1200m, WHOSE ELSE’S (V Duric) steadied outwards across the heels of THE WIND (R Woodworth).

HUSSONATOR laid inwards in the early part of the straight.

The Farrier reported that WHOSE ELSE’S returned having cast its both-fore plates.

CALMBEFORETHESTORM (B Vorster), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 5:  BENCHMARK 97 - 2000M

MARTIN (App Z Zuriman) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped BLUE DANUBE (B Vorster).

VALBUENA (R Woodworth) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 300m, MARTIN steadied off the heels of WELL DONE (M Nunes), which shifted inwards. This resulted in MARTIN then becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of VALBUENA and again having to be steadied.

COOPTADO (V Duric) was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality. COOPTADO, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

All riders returned to scale an average of ½kg overweight due to the weather conditions.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1200M

Prior to the start, NOBLE SUN (R Woodworth) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

Trainer H Takaoka was fined a sum of S$500 for failing to ensure that EXCELLENT MAGIC (M Zaki) was in the Pre-Race Holding Area within the prescribed time in terms of MRA Rule 109(1).

HOW HUGE (S Sam) was slow into stride after making contact with EXCELLENT MAGIC.

TOP OF THE TOWN (D Beasley) jumped outwards at the start bumping FRAGRANCE EMPIRE (I Saifudin) out onto EXCELLENT MAGIC.

EASY MONEY (R Shafiq) and BANKERS CALL (App R Azhar) bumped on jumping.

NOBLE SUN jumped awkwardly outwards at the start.

MR PATRON (App MM Firdaus), which raced keenly in the early stages, had to be eased when racing tight to the inside of FRAGRANCE EMPIRE shortly after passing the 800m. Jockey Saifudin was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

RUN CHEETAH RUN (O Chavez), TOP OF THE TOWN and SPIRIT OF SPEED (App T See) all raced wide throughout.

Passing the 600m, App Azhar, the rider of BANKERS CALL, dropped his whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping his whip may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

The Farrier reported that BANKERS CALL returned having cast its off-fore plate.

Jockey Woodworth reported that NOBLE SUN was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on EASY MONEY which revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. The Veterinary Surgeon also advised that EASY MONEY had previously undergone corrective surgery for this condition.

 RACE 7:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1200M

ALADDIN (S Sam) was slow to begin.

BLACK LABEL (I Saifudin) jumped away awkwardly and shifted inwards making heavy contact with FAT FARRAND (TH Koh), which had been bumped outwards by SUPER EIGHT (O Chavez). This resulted in Jockey Saifudin, the rider of BLACK LABEL, becoming unbalanced for a short distance.

THINK PRETTY (App CK Ng) jumped awkwardly outwards.

STATE TROOPER (R Shafiq) and YUE YUAN (App I Amirul) bumped on jumping.

BONJOUR BOB (App MM Firdaus) raced keenly in the middle stages.

Making the turn into the straight, THINK PRETTY had to be eased off the heels of GENUINE BARGAIN (S Anandan), which shifted inwards.

Approaching the 300m, App CS Chin, the rider of BIG BANK KING dropped his whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping his whip may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

FAT FARRAND laid inwards and brushed THINK PRETTY passing the 300m.

 RACE 8:  KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 2 - 1600M

To avoid a clash with the start times of overseas simulcast races which had been rescheduled, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1620Hrs.

LUCKY COIN (E Chaves) was slow to begin.

WHITE COFFEE (App N Nurshahril) raced wide from the 800m.

Shortly after passing the 800m, WINNING STAR (R Woodworth) steadied after rolling outwards and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MIGHTY KENNY (CW Brown). As a result, LUCKY COIN, which was following, had to be eased off the heels of WINNING STAR.

Passing the 300m, WHITE COFFEE became unbalanced after laying inwards and making contact with MIGHTY KENNY.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LUCKY COIN which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

 RACE 9:  KRANJI STAKES C - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 8, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1655Hrs.

LIM’S GREETING (D Beasley), which was fractious in the barrier and became cast, was taken out and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1659Hrs. LIM’S GREETING will be required to pass one starting stall test and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

SPEEDY DRAGON (M Nunes) became extremely fractious, resulting in it being cast for some time and kicking out, striking the legs of PIONEER SEVEN (App H Syafiq). SPEEDY DRAGON then managed to extricate itself under the front of its barrier before being captured. PIONEER SEVEN and SPEEDY DRAGON were both subsequently examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice, the Panel of Stewards ordered their withdrawals at 1700Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, PIONEER SEVEN must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again. However, SPEEDY DRAGON will be required to pass one starting stall test and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

CLIP THE TICKET (R Shafiq) was fractious in the barrier, resulting in its rider being injured. CLIP THE TICKET was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1701Hrs. CLIP THE TICKET will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

TASSAJARA (App I Amirul) was restless in the barrier. Trainer M Freedman was advised that a warning has been placed on TASSAJARA regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

Shortly after the start, NORTHERN BOSS (O Chavez) checked when racing to the inside of CASTOR (App T See). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Approaching the 900m, TASSAJARA was buffeted for some distance between BATTLE HORSE (CW Brown) and CASTOR, which shifted inwards.

TASSAJARA raced wide throughout.

CASTOR laid inwards passing the 100m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BATTLE HORSE which revealed that the horse returned as a roarer.

 RACE 10:  CLASS 4 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 9, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1730Hrs.

DEMON KING (App T See), which began awkwardly, was bumped on jumping by PINT SIZED PRINCE (I Saifudin).

Approaching the 800m, PINT SIZED PRINCE, which was racing keenly, had to be steadied off the heels of OUR TOUCHE (M Nunes). JUST NAME IT (App MM Firdaus), which was following, had to be eased in consequence.

PINT SIZED PRINCE, which continued to race keenly, again had to be steadied off the heels of OUR TOUCHE near the 700m.

GOLDEN CASINO (App CC Wong) raced wide throughout.

Near the 200m, RIVER OF GOLD (D Beasley) had to change course outwards to obtain clear running.

MASTERMIND (R Woodworth) hung inwards from the 200m.

PINT SIZED PRINCE laid outwards under pressure from the 150m and in so doing, carried GOLDEN CASINO wider on the track.

Jockey S Anandan, the rider of LADY ROULETTE, was warned in regards of his whip use in the vicinity of the shoulder of his mount passing the 100m.

Jockey Nunes reported that OUR TOUCHE was making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 11:  CLASS 4 - 1200M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 10, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1805Hrs.

After arriving at the barrier, HERACLES (CW Brown) had its saddle readjusted.

QUEEN’S SEVEN (I Saifudin), which was restless in the barrier, lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, QUEEN’S SEVEN was bumped by ZIPPY GENERAL (A Da Silva), which was carried outwards by SECRET SPICE (App CK Ng).

BEST LIFE (App K Toh) commenced to race keenly approaching the 1000m.

ZHUHAI (D Beasley), which was racing wide, shifted outwards and carried QUEEN’S SEVEN wider on the track near the 700m.

Making the turn into the straight, ZIPPY GENERAL and HERACLES bumped heavily.

Passing the 400m, HERACLES was again bumped when ZIPPY GENERAL shifted to the outside of SAVAGE STORM (App CC Wong). Thereafter, ZIPPY GENERAL and HERACLES continued to bump on a couple of occasions.

Near the 250m, SECRET SPICE was held up on the heels of RISING EMPIRE (TH Koh).

Approaching the 50m, SECRET SPICE, which was making ground, had to be taken inwards to obtain clear running.

The Farrier reported that RISING EMPIRE returned having cast its near-fore plate.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that ZHUHAI had returned with the saddle having slipped back during the running of the race.

Jockey Koh reported that RISING EMPIRE returned lame. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. RISING EMPIRE will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
