 RACE 1:  KRANJI STAKES D, DIV 1 - 1400M

Due to a delay resulting from the heavy downpour and lightning in the vicinity of the Race Course prior to Race 1, this race was put back forty minutes and rescheduled to start at 1900Hrs.

An Objection was lodged by Jockey Kellady, the rider of second placegetter, WARPATH, against LUCKY COIN, being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference in the straight. After deliberation and considering all of the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that after passing the 200m, WARPATH, which was racing behind LUCKY COIN, attempted to improve to the inside of that gelding. However, LUCKY COIN, which was two lengths clear of WARPATH, rolled inwards slightly. Thereafter, WARPATH was taken outwards to the outside of LUCKY COIN. Taking into account the alleged interference and the manner in which both horses finished off the race, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. As such, the Objection was overruled and the result stood.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HAPPY SAGA which revealed no apparent abnormality.
