 RACE 1:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

JACK OF HEARTS (M Au) began awkwardly.

SMART SUPREME (B Vorster) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped OCEAN POWER (I Saifudin).

MAJOR GREEN (J Powell) raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 600m, SO SIMPLE (App J See) eased when crowded slightly between SMART SUPREME and SUPER JOY (O Chavez), which rolled outwards.

Jockey M Nunes, the rider of DR OCTOPUS, was fined a sum of S$500 under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip near the 50m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LION MASTER (N Juglall) which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. LION MASTER will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on OCEAN POWER which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(5), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of five months, and may not start in any race for a period of six months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HAPPY PRINCESS (A Munro) which revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. HAPPY PRINCESS will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

ILUVYOU (App N Nurshahril) began awkwardly.

MONTE CARLO (R Woodworth) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped WHITE SHADOW (CW Brown) in onto NOVA MASTER (App R Shafiq), which then shifted inwards abruptly and in so doing, lost ground.

BUTCH CASSIDY (A Munro) was slow into stride.

Approximately the 50m after the start, PRATT STREET (App Z Zuriman) shifted inwards and bumped GOLD PIN (App R Rueven) on two occasions.

After passing the 800m, PRATT STREET shifted inwards abruptly bumping GOLD PIN in onto LADY IFFRAAJ (M Nunes), resulting in that filly having to be steadied.

Passing the 700m, LADY IFFRAAJ and WHITE SHADOW bumped on a few occasions.

Jockey Brown, when questioned regarding the run of WHITE SHADOW, stated that the gelding travelled well until approaching the 600m where it received a couple of bumps from LADY IFFRAAJ. He further added that after this, WHITE SHADOW was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding and in his opinion, was disappointing. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on WHITE SHADOW which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 5 - 1700M (POLYTRACK)

Permission was granted for App CC Wong to replace App T See on DOS EQUIS as the latter was unable to make the weight. App T See was subsequently fined a sum of S$200 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).

After arriving at the barrier, KNIGHT’S CHARISMA (M Zaki) had its saddle readjusted.

GREAT LIGHT (I Saifudin), RAINBOW WARRIOR (E Aslam) and DOS EQUIS all began awkwardly.

PIONEER LIU (S Sam) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with SHABBAT (M Nunes). PIONEER LIU then shifted inwards and bumped GOLDEN JADE (App R Shafiq).

Near the 500m, GREAT LIGHT eased when crowded between PIONEER LIU and RAINBOW WARRIOR, which shifted outwards.

FOREVER BEST (S John) was held up for clear running from the 600m until near the 400m.

Approaching the 300m, FOREVER BEST had to be steadied outwards to avoid the heels of KNIGHT’S CHARISMA, which was tiring.

KNIGHT’S CHARISMA, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both FOREVER BEST and SHABBAT which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  INITIATION - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

ANONYMOUS (S John) and SPEEDY MOMENT (A Da Silva) were both slow into stride.

OCEAN MASTER (M Ewe) began awkwardly.

After passing the 800m, SPEEDY MOMENT hung outwards and in so doing, inconvenienced ZAHIR (O Chavez).

Approaching the 700m, OCEAN MASTER had to be restrained for a number of strides after racing up onto the heels of GANNA (App R Rueven).

ANONYMOUS raced wide throughout.

Near the 400m, ZAHIR was taken wider on the track by EDEN GARDEN (App WS Chan) when that gelding improved.

For the majority of the homestraight, ANONYMOUS laid inwards.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ALPHANOVA which revealed that the horse returned with a cut on its near-fore leg.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

After arriving at the barrier, SILVER FLY (S John) had its saddle readjusted.

GREAT BALLS OFFIRE (App R Hasri) and LEGACY (N Juglall) made contact on jumping.

SECONDWAVE (App CC Wong) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped GYPSY STAR (App J See) out onto BROTHER BAY (App TR Barnabas).

Near the 1500m, STAR BEAUTY (App R Zawari) was eased when crowded for room between STANZOUT (App A Feiruz) and LUCKY COME (R Woodworth), which shifted inwards slightly.

STANZOUT raced keenly in the early stages.

LUCKY COME raced wide throughout.

App J See reported that GYPSY STAR was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

App TR Barnabas, when questioned regarding the run of BROTHER BAY, stated that he felt that there was something amiss with the horse’s action and therefore, he commenced to ease the gelding out of the race near the 1000m and did not place undue pressure on his mount thereafter. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BROTHER BAY which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. BROTHER BAY will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 6:  INITIATION - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

NOVA GLORY (App WS Chan), which reared and became momentarily cast, was taken out and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on veterinary advice that NOVA GLORY had sustained a cut on its off-fore leg, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1528Hrs. NOVA GLORY will be required to pass one starting stall test and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

BIG BANKER (M Nunes) jumped awkwardly inwards and made heavy contact with GOLD CUSTOMER (App R Rueven). BIG BANKER then had to be eased to avoid the heels of GURU-GURU (A Munro), which shifted outwards abruptly.

MASTER BANGER (TH Koh) raced keenly in the early stages.

SILENT CONNECTION (App R Shafiq) and MASTER BANGER both raced wide throughout.

MASTER BANGER laid outwards from near the 700m until the 400m.

 RACE 7:  NOVICE - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

LUCKY BOY (App K A’Isisuhairi) and GOLDEN MILE (App CC Wong) bumped on jumping.

MOLLY BROWNE (App CK Ng) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped ABOVE THE SKYLINE (R Woodworth). Shortly thereafter, MOLLY BROWNE was bumped by ABOVE THE SKYLINE, which in turn was bumped heavily by GET GOING (A Da Silva) when that gelding shifted inwards abruptly after the start. As a result, ABOVE THE SKYLINE and MOLLY BROWNE both lost ground.

Approximately 50m after the start, KATAGAS (M Nunes) was inconvenienced by MASURAO (App J See), which shifted outwards.

GET GOING raced wide on the track in the early stages.

LUMINIFF LAD (CW Brown) and KATAGAS both raced wide throughout.

MR NEVERMIND (App R Shafiq) was held up for clear running from the 400m until the 250m whereupon the gelding was taken outwards to improve.

LUCKY BOY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the homestraight.

Approaching the 400m, MASURAO steadied when momentarily crowded between LUCKY BOY and KATAGAS, which rolled inwards slightly.

App J See, the rider of MASURAO, reported that the gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race. This was subsequently confirmed by the Farrier.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LUMINIFF LAD which revealed no apparent abnormality.

App A’Isisuhairi, when questioned regarding the run of LUCKY BOY, stated that the gelding travelled well throughout, however, did get bumped near the 500m and was crowded near the 200m. He further added that over the concluding stages, LUCKY BOY failed to finish the race off as expected and in his opinion, may be better suited racing on the Turf Track. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LUCKY BOY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

DIAMOND ON THE BAY (App P Dellorto) was slow to begin.

Near the 900m, GOOD LOOUKEN (App WS Chan), which was shifting inwards, clipped the heels of BARNBURGH LAD (R Woodworth), which rolled outwards slightly. As a result, GOOD LOOUKEN lost ground.

After passing the 800m, BARNBURGH LAD and EXCEPTIONAL CHOICE (App K Lee) bumped.

INFERMO (App T See), BARNBURGH LAD and LAM EDITION (S Sam) all raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 200m, EXCEPTIONAL CHOICE was carried inwards by BARNBURGH LAD.

Jockey Woodworth reported that BARNBURGH LAD was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination confirmed this and also revealed that the horse returned with a dorsal displacement of the soft palate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GOOD LOOUKEN which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

 RACE 9:  KRANJI STAKES B - 1700M (POLYTRACK)

GOLIATH (CW Brown) jumped inwards at the start and bumped CLUTHA LAD (App CC Wong).

HOT GOLD (App K A’Isisuhairi) raced keenly in the early stages and laid outwards near the 1400m.

VERTICAL START (App R Shafiq) raced wide throughout.

BLOSSOMS SEQUEL (M Nunes) and GOLIATH raced tight rounding the hometurn and in so doing, brushed on a number of occasions.

After passing the 400m, CLUTHA LAD eased off the heels of GOLIATH, which was taken inwards slightly by BLOSSOMS SEQUEL. CLUTHA LAD then had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 300m.

HOT GOLD was held up and unable to obtain clear running from the 500m until the 200m.

For a short distance near the 400m, GOLIATH was held up for clear running. GOLIATH was again held up for a short distance near the 200m.

DUJARDIN (A Da Silva) had some difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and passing the 200m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GOLIATH which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 10:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

Acting on veterinary advice that QUETZAL (N Juglall) was found to be inappetent, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1302Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

BIGCAT RHAPSODY (M Kellady) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

CHEETAH KING (App T See) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with DAAD’S THE WAY (App Z Zuriman).

Shortly after the start, DRAPPIER (M Zaki) and HARDEN UP (TH Koh) both steadied when crowded between BRANKSOME (M Nunes), which rolled inwards and AMI ELEVEN (R Woodworth), which shifted outwards.

SUGARTIME JAZZ (O Chavez) raced wide throughout.

OUR RIVER DANCER (App R Shafiq) laid outwards rounding the hometurn.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both BIGCAT RHAPSODY and VITALLY SECRET (CW Brown) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 11:  CLASS 4 - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

KENNEDY (App K Toh) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, KAZUO (App R Sazali) was bumped by MINGS MAN (App CS Chin), which was carried outwards by ROSELLI (CW Brown).

Near the 800m, ANGRY CAT (O Chavez) was eased when crowded between SUPER BONUS (App CC Wong) and MINGS MAN, which shifted inwards and away from KAZUO. SATELLITE PRINCE (N Juglall), which was following, had to be eased in consequence.

After passing the 800m, ANGRY CAT commenced to overrace and had to be eased after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MINGS MAN.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DEVIL’S PASS (M Rodd) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

Trainer HW Tan, when questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of BLUE DIAMOND (App T See), stated that he believed today’s field was weaker than what the gelding had been racing against recently. He added that BLUE DIAMOND had been freshened since its previous start where it had suffered a stone bruise and further had also drawn a better barrier today. His explanation was noted.

POST-RACE URINE/BLOOD: FRIDAY
SINGAPORE 30 OCTOBER MEETING 2015

RACE 2 [TF1280] : SUCCESSION

29 coded urine and 30 coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

All samples were analysed and none failed except for Sample Coded No 0053317 which revealed the presence of Mefenamic Acid and which was reported to have been taken from the horse, SUCCESSION, trained by Trainer M Freedman, which ran second in Race 2 on the above date.

On Sunday, 22 November 2015, Trainer Freedman was advised of the Analyst’s Report and his attention was drawn to the contents of MRA Rule 137 (1) relating to the Referee Samples. In terms of the Rules, SUCCESSION could not race again until cleared by the Stewards.

An inquiry into the above will be held at a date to be fixed.
