MARCH (SINGAPORE 3YO SPRINT) MEETING
Sunday,  27 March 2016

 RACE 1:  KIWI KARMA 2015 STAKES
                 CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

MILLION ROUND (I Saifudin) jumped awkwardly inwards and in so doing, bumped GLORIOUS WEALTH (App Y Salim) in onto REAL HERO (O Chavez), which in turned bumped MASTER BANGER (App WS Chan). As a result, GLORIOUS WEALTH became very unbalanced and lost ground.

Shortly after the start, MASTER BANGER was eased to avoid the heels of SECRET MAN (V Duric), which shifted inwards and away from MILLION ROUND, which shifted inwards.

MASTER BANGER proved difficult to settle in the early stages and in so doing, near the 900m, shifted outwards abruptly making contact with GLORIOUS WEALTH on a couple of occasions. After being bumped, GLORIOUS WEALTH shifted outwards and bumped OVER EASY (App R Firdhaus).

MASTER BANGER, TENMA (D Beasley) and OVER EASY all raced wide throughout.

LUCKY COMMAND (App MM Firdaus) laid outwards rounding the hometurn carrying ROCK OF AGES (B Vorster) wider on the track.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SECRET MAN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 2:  WAR AFFAIR 2014 STAKES
                 CLASS 5 - 1700M (POLYTRACK)

As there was no similar claiming rider available, the Stewards gave permission for App T See to replace App Z Zuriman on DRAPPIER.

ZAHIR (App CS Chin) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped OCTIVIA (App K Toh) onto NATURAL WATER (TH Koh).

AUREUS (App WS Chan), which began awkwardly, had to be eased shortly after the start, to avoid the heels of OCTIVIA, which was carried inwards slightly by WINNING SUCCESS (App H Syafiq), which shifted inwards after beginning awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, BLACK BEAN (M Zaki) shifted inwards and bumped BUZET (S Anandan).

Approximately 50m after the start, DRAPPIER had to be eased when crowded between NATURAL WATER, which rolled outwards and AUREUS, which was carried inwards by WINNING SUCCESS.

Near the 1500m, GENERAL CONATUS (App CK Ng), which was racing keenly, steadied to avoid the heels of VITALLY SECRET (App R Zawari), which shifted inwards to avoid the heels of BLACK BEAN.

Approaching and passing the 1300m, OCTIVIA, which was racing keenly, had to be eased off the heels of BIGCAT RHAPSODY.

GENERAL CONATUS raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 100m, GENERAL CONATUS changed course inwards after being disappointed for a run between STREET CHAMP (E Aslam) and AUREUS, which was shifting outwards under pressure.

Approaching the Winning Post, App Ng, the rider of GENERAL CONATUS, dropped his off-side rein.

OCTIVIA and WINNING SUCCESS, which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

App MM Firdaus reported that BIGCAT RHAPSODY was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 3:  STEPITUP 2013 STAKES
                 BENCHMARK 67 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

Teo CH, Trainer ZL Mok’s B Trainer, when questioned regarding the significant increase in the body weight of PANAMA CITY (S John), stated that the gelding had returned from a lengthy spell and had built up significantly during this time. He added that PANAMA CITY was, in his opinion, fit to start. A Pre-Race veterinary examination passed PANAMA CITY fit to race.

BRAHMA CIRCUS (App I Amirul) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped SUN MIRACLE (App Y Salim).

Approaching the 800m, BRAHMA CIRCUS was eased when crowded for racing room between CASH BOX (R Woodworth), which rolled outwards slightly and RICH FORTUNE (R Shafiq). When racing tightly, BRAHMA CIRCUS and RICH FORTUNE made contact on a number of occasions.

Near the 700m, DREAMCATCHER (App CK Ng), which was overracing, had to be eased after racing up onto the heels of BRAHMA CIRCUS.

Near the 350m, GOLD STOCK (TH Koh) had to be eased when crowded for room between MR TRY (App WS Chan), which laid inwards and DREAMCATCHER, which shifted outwards abruptly under pressure.

After passing the 100m, BRAHMA CIRCUS shifted outwards when attempting to improve and in so doing, momentarily became held up on the heels of SUN MIRACLE, which rolled outwards slightly.

The Farrier reported that EATONS GOLD (M Nunes) returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BRAHMA CIRCUS which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  SUPER EASY 2012 STAKES
                 CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

DYNASTY KNIGHT (App T See) began awkwardly.

ROMA (S Anandan) jumped awkwardly inwards making contact with FLYING NEKO (K Fujii), which in turn bumped OCEAN STORY (A Munro) in onto METAPHOR (App K Toh).

PRESSING ON (S John), which blundered on jumping, then shifted outwards and bumped GOLDEN JADE (O Chavez), which rolled out towards EVERTRUST (B Vorster), which then bumped RISING STAR (App CK Ng).

Shortly after the start, DYNASTY KNIGHT steadied inwards away from the heels of PRESSING ON, which shifted in.

Approaching the 900m, DYNASTY KNIGHT, which was proving difficult to settle, steadied off the heels of OCEAN STORY. DYNASTY KNIGHT continued to prove difficult to settle for some distance thereafter.

EVERTRUST, RISING STAR and GOLDEN JADE all raced wide throughout.

OCEAN STORY had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until near the 200m.

After passing the 300m, METAPHOR commenced to shift outwards under pressure and in so doing, made contact with FLYING NEKO carrying FLYING NEKO wider on the track. After making contact, METAPHOR became unbalanced near the 200m. App Toh was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

 

Near the 50m, RISING STAR was eased outwards to avoid the heels of FLYING NEKO, which rolled outwards.

Jockey John reported that PRESSING ON returned having bled. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that PRESSING ON returned having bled and with a heart condition. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

 RACE 5:  GINGERBREAD MAN 2011 STAKES
                 CLASS 3, DIV 2 - 1400M

After arriving at the barrier, MY BROTHERS KEEPER (M Nunes) had its saddle readjusted.

LAUGHING GRAVY (V Duric) and WONDERFUL PRINCE (O Chavez) were both slow into stride.

BRAHMS AND LISZT (App CK Ng), which was restless in the barrier, began awkwardly.

MY BROTHERS KEEPER jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped GOLDEN TOMAHAWK (A Munro).

Shortly after the start, WONDERFUL PRINCE was inconvenienced by GANADOR (E Chaves), which rolled inwards.

LAUGHING GRAVY and MY BROTHERS KEEPER were both difficult to settle in the early stages.

WONDERFUL PRINCE raced wide throughout.

MY BROTHERS KEEPER was held up for clear running between the 400m to near the 300m. After obtaining clear running for a short distance, MY BROTHERS KEEPER was then unable to obtain clear running from the 250m until near the 100m.

In the early part of the homestraight, GOLDEN TOMAHAWK had some difficulty obtaining clear running.

Passing the 100m, Jockey Munro, the rider of GOLDEN TOMAHAWK, had his whip struck out off his hand by the whip of Jockey Chaves, the rider of GANADOR.

Near the 50m, LAUGHING GRAVY was inconvenienced by BRAHMS AND LISZT, which rolled inwards under pressure.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MY BROTHERS KEEPER which revealed that horse returned as a roarer and not striding out freely. The Veterinary Surgeon also advised that MY BROTHERS KEEPERS had previously undergone corrective surgery for this condition.

 RACE 6:  BETTER THAN EVER 2010 STAKES
                 KRANJI STAKES C - 2200M (POLYTRACK)

FUJIN BRIGHT (G Boss) and DANGER ZONE (K Fujii) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, SMART LAD (M Nunes) had to be eased to avoid the heels of SALUT AMOUR (App MM Firdaus), which shifted outwards away from AIR FORCE ONE (CW Brown) after initially being carried outwards by that gelding, which shifted ground after jumping awkwardly outwards.

Near the 400m, SMART LAD and FUJIN BRIGHT bumped.

 RACE 7:  MOORING 209 STAKES
                 CLASS 3, DIV 1 - 1400M

SAND BANK (App R Firdhaus) was restless in the barrier. Trainer S Burridge was advised that a warning has been placed on SAND BANK regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

CHASE (R Shafiq) was slow into stride.

THESE STREETS (V Duric) and DAVINCI (D Beasley) bumped on jumping.

Approaching the 800m, VIVIANO (M Nunes) steadied to avoid the heels of THESE STREETS, which laid inwards and away from RISKY ROCKEFELLER (CW Brown).

After passing the 800m, CHASE, which was racing keenly, shifted outwards after racing up onto the heels of RISKY ROCKEFELLER. This resulted in DAVINCI, which was racing to the outside of CHASE, being bumped by CHASE and being carried outwards.

Near the 700m, VIVIANO again steadied to avoid the heels of THESE STREETS, which shifted inwards and away from RISKY ROCKEFELLER, which rolled inwards slightly.

After passing the 500m, INTENSE GOLD (G Boss) was carried wider on the track by SAND BANK, which shifted outwards when tiring.

Near the 450m, SAND BANK had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RISKY ROCKEFELLER, which when racing greenly, shifted outwards abruptly.

Near the 100m, VIVIANO changed course outwards to obtain clear running.

Jockey Beasley, the rider of DAVINCI, was reminded of his obligations to ride all his mounts out fully to the Finish.

The Farrier reported that THESE STREETS returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SAND BANK which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 8:  BIG MAVERICK 2008 STAKES
                 CLASS 5, DIV 3 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

SUPER VELOX (G Boss) and GENUINE BARGAIN (S Anandan) bumped on jumping.

PURE WHITE (K Fujii) and FLYING MISSION (B Vorster) bumped on jumping.

REAL GOODMAN (S John) began awkwardly.

JACKPOT (E Aslam) lost ground shortly after the start after being bumped heavily by SACRED CROWN (D Beasley), which shifted outwards after beginning awkwardly and HANDSOME BAB (App T See), which shifted inwards abruptly after jumping away awkwardly. As a result, SACRED CROWN shifted inwards and bumped AFTERNOON DELIGHT (V Duric), causing that mare to blunder.

FAT FARRAND (TH Koh), PURE WHITE, FLYING MISSION and JACK OF HEARTS (R Woodworth) all raced wide throughout.

FLYING MISSION had some difficulty obtaining clear running between 250m until passing the 200m.

Over the concluding stages, AFTERNOON DELIGHT was held up for clear running between GENUINE BARGAIN and REAL GOODMAN, which rolled inwards.

Approaching the Winning Post, GENUINE BARGAIN steadied when racing in restricted room on the inside of AFTERNOON DELIGHT.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on REAL GOODMAN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 9:  DESTER SINGAPORE THREE-YEAR-OLD SPRINT
                 SINGAPORE GROUP 3 (SW) - 1200M

INFANTRY (D Beasley) was restless in the barrier. Trainer HW Tan was advised that a warning has been placed on INFANTRY regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

LIM’S KNIGHT (R Shafiq) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped MAGNUM (CW Brown). LIM’S KNIGHT then had to be steadied shortly after the start, when crowded between ASTROJET (K Fujii) and MAGNUM, which was carried inwards slightly by CONFLIGHT (O Chavez).

MARINE TREASURE (G Boss), which began awkwardly, shifted inwards shortly after the start and bumped INFANTRY in onto NOVA STRIKE (M Nunes).

Near the 1000m, when the pace of the race steadied, MARINE TREASURE shifted outwards off the heels of CONFLIGHT, bumping ASTROJET out onto MAGNUM. MAGNUM became very unbalanced and shifted outwards, resulting in GOLDEN SWORD (V Duric) being carried outwards and MORITZ ECLIPSE (A Da Silva), which was racing to the outside of GOLDEN SWORD, having to be steadied outwards. In this incident, NOVA STRIKE, which was following MARINE TREASURE, had to be steadied outwards and bumped LIM’S KNIGHT. O’WHAT A FEELING (M Kellady) shifted outwards and away from LIM’S KNIGHT. BANDIDO (E Chaves), which was following, had to be eased in consequence.

RAFAELLO (B Vorster) raced keenly in the early stages.

Approaching the 800m, NOVA STRIKE, which was proving difficult to settle, had to be steadied after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MARINE TREASURE. INFANTRY, which was following, was hampered in consequence.

RAFAELLO, MORITZ ECLIPSE, O’WHAT A FEELING and PEER GYNT (A Munro) all raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 300m, INFANTRY steadied when crowded for racing room between LIM’S KNIGHT, which initially shifted inwards and NOVA STRIKE, which shifted outwards.

RAFAELLO was held up for clear running from the 250m until near the 150m.

Approaching the 100m, NOVA STRIKE checked when racing between MARINE TREASURE and ASTROJET. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

The Farrier reported that MORITZ ECLIPSE returned having cast its off-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NOVA STRIKE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 10:  LIM'S OBJECTIVE 2007 STAKES
                   KRANJI STAKES D - 1100M (POLYTRACK)

Acting on veterinary advice that HAPPY HAPPY (App MM Firdaus) was found to be lame off-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1729Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

LUCKY BOY (V Duric) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with BEST JADE (M Nunes).

IMPERIAL BOY (App T See) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped STOCK BROKER (CW Brown), which in turn bumped MIGHTY MAN (D Beasley).

MOTHER NATURE (B Vorster) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, MIGHTY MAN was eased to avoid the heels of Q NINE MAGIC (App CK Ng), which shifted inwards and away from KAISER (App K Toh).

MOTHER NATURE raced keenly in the early stages.

LUCKY SIX, MOTHER NATURE and KAISER all raced wide throughout.

Near the 200m, BEST JADE was disappointed for a run between STOCK BROKER and MIGHTY MAN, which shifted inwards marginally. BEST JADE then had to be steadied outwards to obtain clear running.

Over the concluding stages, ANGRY CAT (O Chavez), which was improving, had to be eased off the heels of BEST JADE, which shifted outwards.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BEST JADE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on IMPERIAL BOY which revealed that the horse returned with a heart condition. IMPERIAL BOY will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 11:  WBY BE 2006 STAKES
                   CLASS 4 - 1200M

Prior to the start, SILVER POWER (App T See) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

ISANOTHERONE (S John), which was restless in the barrier, lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

SOUTHERN HUSSLER (App H Syafiq) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, SING ROULETTE (S Anandan) shifted inwards abruptly bumping WONDERFUL (M Nunes) onto ARION (A Munro).

Near the 900m, SING ROULETTE, which was racing keenly, rolled inwards and had to be steadied off the heels of OPTIMUS (CW Brown).

RUN IT TWICE (G Boss), OPTIMUS and SING ROULETTE all raced wide throughout.

Shortly after passing the 400m, WONDERFUL rolled inwards and momentarily crowded DOHATSUTEN (K Fujii).

DOHATSUTEN was held up for clear running from the 350m until near the 150m.

 

Approaching the 300m, SOUTHERN HUSSLER shifted inwards and brushed the running rail.

Near the 300m, ARION steadied outwards away from the heels of SILVER POWER.

After passing the 200m, ARION was carried wider on the track by SILVER POWER, which shifted outwards under pressure.

Near the 50m, SOUTHERN HUSSLER changed course outwards after being disappointed for a run to the inside of SUGARTIME JAZZ (App N Nurshahril).

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ARION which revealed no apparent abnormality.
