Stalls for fractious horses
on racedays
SINGAPORE, 24 July 2003 |
||
The Singapore Turf Club has constructed two Calming Stalls at the Parade Ring for use by fractious horses on racedays. The two stalls will be in use from Friday, 1 August 2003. Presently, fractious horses are being saddled at the pre-race Holding Area as they may become difficult to handle when presented at the Parade Ring because of the crowd and the noise level. Fractious horses can now be saddled at the Parade Ring using these two new stalls. This will enable all horses to be presented on time for parading to allow racegoers sufficient time to assess the horses before they leave for their races. The two air-conditioned Calming Stalls are under camera surveillance at all times when in use. The images will be shown on two television monitors mounted outside the stalls. The images will also be recorded. In addition, a Club official will be stationed inside the Calming Stalls whenever they are in use. |
