New type of bet

The Singapore Turf Club will introduce a new
type of betting this Wednesday, 26 March 2003, when the club operates on the
Hong Kong night races.
The PLACE FORECAST bet will add to the fun and variety of betting on horse racing. PLACE FORECAST requires the customers to select any 2 horses to finish 1st and 2nd, 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 3rd in any order in a race. The Club envisages that the new bet type will prove popular as it is easier to win than a FORECAST bet as the winning chances are more. In addition, PLACE FORECAST provides better returns than a PLACE bet. Each unit bet costs $2 and the minimum dividend is $3. The bet will be offered on races with a minimum field of 10 horses. To start with, the PLACE FORECAST bet will be available from the Singapore Racecourse as well as the Club’s nine off-course betting centres from designated betting counters. To buy PLACE FORECAST bets, customers are required to use the mark-sense coupon with the "PFT" option. The approximate dividends and results for PLACE FORECAST will be displayed on selected TV monitors at the racecourse and off-course betting centres. The Club will be conducting a special lucky draw on Friday, 28 March where racegoers who produce a current PLACE FORECAST ticket with a minimum value of $20.00 at any of the counters will be given a lucky draw coupon. They are to complete the coupon with their particulars and drop it into the box provided. A total of 13 cash prizes stand to be won, including the top prize of $1888.
