Magic Of Money to stand at NSF

IPOH,  7 July 2003

Former Western Australian based stallion MAGIC OF MONEY has arrived at the National Stud Farm (NSF) and will commence stud duties this September.

The recent arrival of the Group 1 winning son of Last Tycoon is yet another significant milestone in the illustrious 34-year history of Malaysia’s only thoroughbred breeding facility.

MAGIC OF MONEY was an A$375,000 buy at the 1992 Australian Easter Yearling Sale and won six races on the tracks including the AJC Galaxy Handicap.

NSF Stud Manager Ross Dorman said: "The arrival of MAGIC OF MONEY will certainly be a boost to the level of competitiveness of our local horse breeding industry. It is certainly in line with the farm’s objective to establish Malaysia as an international destination of choice for horse buyers worldwide.

"NSF is also confident that the proven track record and qualities of MAGIC OF MONEY are able to attract more breeders and potential breeders to the farm."

MAGIC OF MONEY’s progeny have earned a total of more than A$13 million in prizemoney.

A few days after the NSF acquired MAGIC OF MONEY, two of his progeny, THE RIGHT MONEY and MONEY IS MAGIC won the Group 2 Western Australian Guineas and the Group 3 Bunbury Cup respectively.

Additionally, MAGIC OF MONEY’s other progeny namely JOSALIE, CAISSA, MAGIC DASH and SUAVE LADY were also Group and Listed winners, therefore accrediting him with a winners to runners ratio of more than 60 percent to date.

The NSF was established in 1969 by the Malaysian Totalisator Board based on the vision of the late Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first premier and an avid patron of the Sport of Kings, who believed that the breeding of thoroughbreds were possible in the tropics.

Other stallions currently standing at stud at the NSF are POSEN, MAIZCAY, HAN WOON TYCOON and BECQUEREL.
