Brian Dean granted stables at Kranji

Australian Brian Dean is the latest to join Kranji’s training ranks.

Dean, 46, has been granted 34 stables by the Club and will commence his operations from 12 July 2004.

Dean has been involved in racing since 1973. He began as a licensed apprentice jockey with the Victoria Racing Club before receiving his professional jockey’s licence in 1979.

Between 1989 and 1993, he rode regularly as a visiting jockey in the MRA circuit and among his major successes were the Merlion Trophy and Orchid Trophy.

Dean subsequently worked as a track rider and then senior track rider for Malaysian trainers Leong Poh Keong, Marinus van Breukelen and Peter Lee between July 1995 and May 2000.

Since 2002, Dean has worked as a Stable Supervisor to top Kranji trainers Charles Leck and Laurie Laxon.
