Dudley Feldman resigns

SINGAPORE,  22 January 2004

Dudley Feldman has resigned as Principal Chief Stipendiary Steward of the Singapore Turf Club (SNTC).

The South African has informed SNTC of his wish to return home before his employment contract ends in May 2005 for personal and family reasons. The SNTC, in a statement, said it has reluctantly acceded to his request. Feldman’s last day of service is 31 January 2004.

"The Singapore Turf Club would like to thank Mr Feldman for his dedication and past services and wish him the very best in his future endeavours." the statement concluded.

Feldman started a Stipendiary Steward with the Jockey Club of South Africa in 1973, was promoted to Senior Stipendiary Steward in 1978 and became Chairman of the Board in 1985 until 1992 whe he joined he Macau Jockey Club as Senior Stipendiary Steward.

After just three months in Macau, he left to join the Bukit Turf Club (later renamed Singapore Turf Club) as the Chief Stipendiary Steward.

Feldman rejoined the Macau Jockey Club in September 1994 and was there until May 1996 when he took up the position as Professional Racing Stewards with the MRA before being appointed to his present post in June, 2002.
