Lim Hoon Hooi passes away

Former trainer Lim Hoon Hooi passed away here yesterday after suffering from a massive stroke. He was 57.

He first suffered a stroke more than seven years ago. He failed to regain consciousness after his second stroke six days ago.

The elder brother of Penang based trainer Lim Hoon Seng retired after saddling four winners in 2002. He had his best season in 1999, finishing third in the table with 29 winners.

His solitary classic success came in the 1995 Perak Derby when he saddled DYNAMIC BOY to victory in the 2,400m contest.
