The surprise announcement was made via CCTV at the Penang races yesterday.

There had been no indication of such a move although the Singapore Turf Club (SNTC) has been operating on the Hong Kong mid-week races for some time now.

Last week, the SNTC announced that they will also televise the Hong Kong races on weekends when races are held in Malaysia.

For the first day of operation on September 8, the Penang Turf Club will be providing free refreshment and snacks for their patrons.
